So much has changed in the last four weeks. First, only some of us were asked to work from home, then more of us, and then everyone who was deemed non-essential. We were asked not to gather in groups of 250 or more, then 25 or more, then 10 or more. The Centers for Disease Contol are now recommending that people go into public places like banks and stores with their faces covered. We are practicing extreme social distancing, staying no less than six feet apart from each other at all times, and handwashing has become our most popular activity.
On March 23rd, when Governor Charlie Baker ordered all non-essential businesses to cease operations, he included a long list of the types of businesses considered essential. According to the mandate, included are “[those] who support the supply chain of building materials from production through application/installation.”
Catchlight falls into this category. Still, our office staff is working remotely, to keep each other safe, and our crews are small and very much socially distanced. We are following strict measures to ensure the health and safety of our crew, our customers, and anyone who may be near one of our work sites. This includes wearing PPE, or Personal Protective Equipment, that meets or exceeds the N95 standard for nuisance dust and the COVID-19 virus. We also use HEPA filtered vacuums to ensure proper cleanliness. Finally, anyone experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 knows to stay home and get in touch with a doctor.
We are fortunate that the nature of our work allows us to be outdoors, and with the start of warmer weather and these protective measures in place, we have been able to complete exterior projects. This week, we are working on this beautiful home in Beacon Hill.
We hope you and your families are well during these extraordinary times. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an exterior painting estimate, please be in touch. Stay safe!
